i bought a GIC with an extra $1000 i had after first year university… after the 3 year period i cashed it for $1,050. i will never buy a GIC again so long as i live… you can drop $1,000 in pennies on the ground and accidentally pick up $1,050. and i remember some silly investment advisor (read: no education saleswoman trained to sell the bank’s investment products with a silly bank-branded certificate on the wall) looking over my profile when i set up a RRSP and she was praising what a good investment decision that GIC was… FUUU!!! $100 in bottled water would have been better. ---

I actually went to strong museum 2 days ago LoL, it is pretty cool. he would definitely love it. some of it was even cool for me and im 20, and i went there with a 19 year old… so its not like we took a little kid lol they WILL remember something like that for a very long time, which is the reason we went there ---

I only put $250, so you know that I’m not going to buy him some stupid fucking $500 playhouse when he’s two. My sister and brother-in-law don’t have as much liquid cash as I do (for obvious reasons), therefore if something BIG needs to be purchased in the future for birthdays, I don’t have a problem doing it (Power Wheel, Play house etc). I ended up having my main broad go to Toys-R-Us for me and picked up some stuff. Puzzles, arts & crafts, a “no mess” finger painting easel, a few toys to help learn colors and numbers and a rc car that he _should_ be able to use now ,if not…really soon. I haven’t seen any of it yet, I’ll see it when he opens it.
