so far i haven’t seen anything that redistributes wealth, other then giving tax money to corperations which is really robbing the poor to pay the rich, the opposite of the redistribution you are mentioning.

not over taxing the rich so that they invest in the economy is only part of the equation, if the economy sucks they are more likely to hang on to thier money. When Warren Buffet speaks, peopel should listen. The rich pay more $ but much lower %. some may think this is fair some may not but a flat tax would mean a lot more money for the government.

you’re right, we’ve already bigger bills then we even have money to spend on. when the baby boomers hit medicare, its going to make that all the more real. i a recent retirement seminar the guy was saying the government has some TRILLIONs in unfunded liabilites when the boomers hit medicare and SS
