# Obama Making GM pull out of Nascar?

It’s all over google (but not google news?) and a bunch of other forums. Anyone have anything on this? I agree with it, but I fear that there may be a lynch mob heading toward DC as if it were the Civil War all over again. :ohnoes:

Racing costs a lot of money. If my tax dollars are going towards it, I want to be behind the wheel. I support this mandate.

Don’t trust anything that staunchly Republican, ill-informed rednecks say about Democratic governments’ policies before there’s any press release.
That’s not to say it couldn’t be true, but I’d take their conspiracy theories with a grain of salt.

A complete withdrawal from America’s premier racing series is expected to save more than $250 million between GM and Chrysler, a substantial amount considering the drastic measures being implemented elsewhere.

I have a feeling GM gets more from nascar, than what they put into it. I’m more worried about them pulling the plug on the alms vette program.

i heard about this yesterday. didn’t know whether it was a joke or not. i’m not a diehard nascar fan, but i do enjoy going to the Daytona 500 every year, and do enjoy the sport in general. if this happens (which i highly doubt it will go through), it will plummet reallll quick.
