Looking to buy my own and give my neighbor’s code reader back to him, just curious on which ones people like? Also is it worth it to get one that displays more then just the code and you use the book to look up what the code means? Thanks.

I use a snap-on scan check … reads,clears,live streaming data,lets you know what the code actually means,just a VERY nice easy to use piece

works great, what it cant do Google does better.
shows code #
shows pending codes
shows readiness
clears codes
tells you if the CEL is working (the light on the dash)
tells vin if readable
AND stupid cheap.
readiness is really nice for ny inspection
