where do you live in the town that you just got it back?
I have no idea how we got ours in the early am on sunday, but it was great
when i walked into a 68 vs 50 degree house.

HOWEVER, i ran home from UB this morning in between classes because i forgot something. and there was a Power truck on my street and the guys were roaming around backyards and climbing up and down the poles where the power lines are, so im hoping…

My family didn’t move to rochester until 92 so I didn’t experience that but I’ve heard many stories and the after effects are remanescent in my backyard.
However my parents house has this werid knack of getting hit by disasterous stuff almost on an every other year basis. The 3 worst things I can remember were two microbursts (1 we lost power for a week) and one ice storm in 2002 (not even sure if it effected buffalo at all).
The ice storm in 2002 in April was just like the sitation in buffalo except with ice. My parents house was about 28 degrees for more than a week about 8 days until the power came back on and there was no where to go. Everybody was in a mad scramble to buy generators and anything you would need in a sitation like that it was nuts. It was a pretty shity experience to say the least though, stuff in my room started icing over and the only way to stay warm at night was to sit like within 4 ft from the fireplace. What I remember distinctly though was the highlight of that whole week which was watching the cuse championship basketball game on a little black and white battery operated tv.

got my pics up…most of the first ones were taken Thursday afternoon when the power went out and i was getting bored waiting for it come back on (haha, silly me!)
this one tree in our backyeard i though looked cool all bent over (it survived the storm)
the trees in front of my house and other various trees on my street
some downed limbs in my neighbors yard
a HUGE liloch (sp?) tree/bush on the side of our house that later fell down
Friday Morning looking down the street
my uncle and I cleaning up at my grandma’s (and no, my uncle is NOT jumping back from the chainsaw. he was helping hold up some branches while i cut them so the saw wouldnt bind. the smartest idea? HELL NO! did it work? yes)
Today right before the Power came on (1 week and 1 day later)

yea well my brother had his wedding that weekend that was fun let me tell you. We where on the way to the chruch and the reception hall cancelled 4 hour before we where to be there so we had it at the valley inn…oh yea the chruch had power. i was in a monkey outfit need i say more?
