# odd idleing.

my car has been doing this since i got it, im sure it’s nothing serious. when i start the car up and such, it’ll idle at about 1300rpm. even after i drive it a while and stop every now and then at lights it still idles high. then it’ll eventually go down to regular idle.
any ideas?

check/clean your idle air control valve
and check ecu if all wires are intact well
and check your throttle cable, it could be sticking

Auto ECU. Was your car a 5 speed conversion car?

whoops i was the one that said it’s original 5 speed… i was on white240s comp and forgot to log in on my name.
the idle air control valve is the black cylinder type thing that the second throttle cable goes into?

Oh haha,
Well I don’t know where it is on a DE, but on the E it’s right next to the intake and throttle body, closer to the valve cover.
