I predict 10-15 games. It would have been more had the stick gone 2" lower, shattering the guy windpipe and killing him, but since by dumb luck Hollweg only needed stitches Bettman will go easy. Me, I’d throw Simon out of the league forever. He has a history of cheap shots and suspensions and doesn’t belong on the ice. The Bertuzzi hit got a year, and since Moore still hasn’t recovered from that incident clearly the Bertuzzi suspension wasn’t long enough either. Neither one of them should ever be allowed to play the game again. That kind of message would make these blockhead players think twice before swinging their stick as a weapon. ---

what gets me is that everyone is always up in arms about bertuzzi this bertuzzi that…mcsorely isnt remember anymore for this: he basically got removed from the league for that hit…simon should be fucking axed for everything hes done in the past this is the NHL’s chance to fucking step up and do something…but they probably wont…sigh ---

[/quote] you really can’t shatter a windpipe, its cartilage. Hitting to the throat more or less will cause someone to losing their breath and a difficulty breathing… Of course a harder hit, could cause severe damage to vocal chords and what not, and a good amount of swelling. Yes the swelling could completely stop his breathing but by that time. They would have a tracheotomy ready to go… So its not like a Booom shatter dead… its more like slow breathing, pass out, and a shit load of pain when they cut his throat open. ---
