just look at all the penalties that kaleta has drawn this year, i don’t think we’ve even scored on ONE of those powerplays. the energy line gets under their skin, draws a penalty… and we can’t convert

> so i’ve come to a conclusion about buffalo… alot of this falls on the powerplay. how many times this season have we had a ton of momentum going, get a powerplay to either put the game away or get back into the game, only to accomplish absolutely nothing and give all the momentum right back to the other team. its not even about scoring on the pp, we don’t even get into the zone or setup, and worst case like last nite give up chances/shorthanded goals. thats killed them ALOT this year

Anyone remember the Toronto game last Friday??? How many 5 on 3 power plays did we do nothing with, hell, we even had a delayed call on one of them turning it into a 6 on 3, did we score? Hell no. Did we even get a good scoring chance out of it? Nope…

Lindy finally puts the Vanek/Roy/Afinogenov line back together and Roy scores two goals.

It’s decisions like putting Stafford on that line, breaking up Kalinin/Pratt, the rotating captaincy, continuing to put a forward on the point when we’re giving up shorthanded goals, the Miller can do no wrong attitude while healthy scratching Vanek or Afinogenov, and continuing to play Peters when there are better healthy alternatives that have me thinking maybe it’s time for a coaching change.

I’m going to go put on my flame suit now because I’ve suggested some of the problems may be Lindy’s fault and that’s almost sacrilege in WNY.

we play boston twice. so we hope they lose one of the 4 games not against the sabres. Then the Sabres beat them twice. and hope the capitals lose twice also.

All while the sabres get 6 straight wins…

I think the sabres could lose 1 game too. if the one of the rangers, philly, bruins have a major meltdown

^ Don’t forget that everyone is wrapping up the season with divisional games, meaning Washington gets to play:
Lightning
Panthers
Hurricanes
Lightning
Panthers
For their last 5.

So getting ahead of Boston may only get you to 9th place.

i think this season has been an evolutionary learning process for lindy as well. he has made his share of mistakes, as have the players.

however, i think that the vast majority of blunders over the last year or so have been made at the strategic organization level, primarily with quinn and golisano. for the most part, i think darcy has been handcuffed by reluctance from above to commit to key players early enough in the process.

Very true. I’m just hoping backstrom scores again 🙂

Panthers are HOT,

So are the Canes.

lightning should be two wins for them though. Sabres also have a game in hand. I think its close but washington won’t be a factor

Longest tenured coach in the league. Sorry, you don’t get “learning years” anymore.

Agreed there, but it doesn’t do any good to say I’d like I new owner, one willing to spend to the cap. He’s said openly it’s just a business to him. A coworker and I have a bet for lunch that the Sabres won’t need a cap on season tickets next year. IMO they won’t be able to sell as many as they want next year.

lose all the last remaining games with 5+ goals each against miller so you can resign him cheaper this summer and give all the injuries a long time to heal

wow, this officiating is a fucking joke. Anyone else notice all the early wistles for frozen pucks when the puck isnt even in the same zip code as the goalie.

bah, im frusterated. high sticks and cheap shots, and the refs have there blindfolds on.
