I like that you referred to the Sabres as having ANY playoff hopes. Everyone must be in a good mood because of the Holidays. You don’t drop TWO conference games against the Panthers and expect to crack the top 8.

I think a lot of trades need to be done.
Either Pominville or Connoly should go and get rid of Hecht, Grier, Morrisonn.

Im not a big fan of Grier. He seems like a nice guy and all but all his teammates ever say is he’s a “leader in the locker room”. There’s a difference from contributing in the locker room than on the ice. We might as well pay Tony Robbins to motivate this heartless team if thats what Grier does and apparently its not working. Every time Ive seen Grier have a scoring chance he finds a way to screw it up.
Id like to see Lindy gone as well after this year which I think will happen if we dont make the playoffs. It would be best for the team and best for Lindy since he will win the cup elsewhere but not here in Buffalo.

I have not given up on Grier. The man knows his role on the team and goes out and does it. We didn’t sign him to score goals. He’s out there to give our top lines some rest, kill penalties, and generate some physical play. Does he do it every night at 100%? Maybe not but when he gets going he can certainly take off for a 36 year old 224 pound man. That’s a lot of weight to get moving, especially when we’re used to seeing guys like Gerbe and Ennis zip around the ice. Of course it looks like he’s coasting compared to them. But at least the sabres have made one good move recently, and that’s dropping our lame excuse for a captain:

They need to do what they did with craig rivet. Put him on waivers and if nobody picks him, he will be forced to retire. It is the easiest, most respectful way to let someone see how the league really feels about them.

What does NYSpeed think about Nick Foligno? That is one of the rumors flying around. He seems to be a bit of a Sabrekiller but maybe he just plays up for his pops old team.

I think he’s fucking useless. He would bring NOTHING to this team. We need to unload dead weight, not add more.
