Day one was awesome. I’m navigating for tracker 1, which means my driver and I follow behind all of the competitors through certain stages we’re assigned, and account for any mechanical breakdowns or offs. In other words… I’m responsible for disqualifying any vehicles I feel cannot limp to the end of the stage. AND we get to run the stage as fast as we want, so long as we are ready to stop for any down vehicles. AND we’ve been given these special passes that allow us and our vehicle into any section of the rally for any reason, including spectating from hot zones and non-spectator areas. Pretty f’ing sweet. I also met and chatted with Natalie Richard and Chrissie Beavis, two of the several female co-drivers. Really trying to get my foot in the door to start doing navigating more seriously. I’ve been twittering throughout the day, here are some pics I snapped and tweeted. Setting up early this morning. ![http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3363/3599730144_d8f97714d7.jpg](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3363/3599730144_d8f97714d7.jpg) Mr. Block ![http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3365/3599733990_bff77c2c19.jpg](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3365/3599733990_bff77c2c19.jpg) Drivers meeting ![http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2473/3599734152_d273506095.jpg](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2473/3599734152_d273506095.jpg) Spectating for a few minutes at the out from the fairgrounds to stage 1 ![http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3565/3599734236_7d84bac8e3.jpg](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3565/3599734236_7d84bac8e3.jpg) Same thing ![http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2423/3598925329_dbed7faf68.jpg](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2423/3598925329_dbed7faf68.jpg) Same thing ![http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2426/3598925459_f016025a9c.jpg](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2426/3598925459_f016025a9c.jpg) Same thing ![http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3372/3599734550_6ba806cf5f.jpg](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3372/3599734550_6ba806cf5f.jpg) In our vehicle heading out from the fairgrounds behind the last competitor ![http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2445/3598925617_387f507b85.jpg](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2445/3598925617_387f507b85.jpg) Setting up to leave from Stage 1 start ![http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3622/3599734774_e50ebf294b.jpg](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3622/3599734774_e50ebf294b.jpg) Spectating during super stage ![http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3662/3598925865_5967079130.jpg](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3662/3598925865_5967079130.jpg) Starting the repairs after day 1 ![http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3616/3598925953_f29daa5268.jpg](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3616/3598925953_f29daa5268.jpg) Same thing ![http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3403/3598926067_cf50b8d5d0.jpg](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3403/3598926067_cf50b8d5d0.jpg) ---
