I have the new tapatalk. It’s nice. But when I logged on to nyspeed this morning (desktop browser), I still only saw 4 new posts.

My issue with google play is there isn’t a desktop app…

Some third party wrote one but its basically a browser window.

Works well in Chrome, why do you need a fat client app?

Pin it as an app tab? Or use MusicBee, which is all encompassing. It works more like iTunes in that it relies on local music, but does have a radio feature.

Damn VZW/GSIII update screwed my phone. Speeds drop from 50Mbps/20Mbps at work where I have strong 4G signal to unable to run a speed test 5 miles down the road at my house. If I’m lucky and I drop to 3G it isn’t so bad, but I shouldn’t have to hope for 3G…

just grabbed the new GS4 last night. ALMOST got the HTC One, but I HATED the homescreen and you can’t change it. plus it’s a non-serviceable phone and has no external storage available…I hear they are going to re-release it with just stock android for the homescreen instead of that awful windows phone-looking homescreen.

I don’t even know what that is, LOL. I’ve also done my fair share of rooting/ROMing/etc. on previous phones, and I just don’t give a shit to do any of it anymore. I just wanted a device that works and does so the way I want it to out of the box. I’ve got plenty of other hobbies, no need for “modding” my phone to be added to the list.

With the HTC being unserviceable, if anything goes wrong with it you have to replace the whole phone, which is many cases means paying the deductable.

Well, I’m on GS4 #2… screen blacked and stopped working on the first one.

Strange part is this second one… kinda sucks in comparison. Vibration is less (harder to notice in the pocket), and the reception is worse for both Cell and Wifi… weird.

Still like the phone, but wondering why such the difference between units.

it is a home screen replacement…all you do is download an app for example Nova Launcher from the play store and set that as your default, boom no more sense crap

I give a vote for Nova…I think I bought Go launcher too when it was like $.25 or something. Nova is my go to launcher.

What ROM are you running on the Gnex? I just switched to MIUI with updated FK radios and my battery life has been great.

Where are you at? I’m an engineer at VzW and I have never seen any speeds over 30Mbps! I can’t speak much on the Gs3 update, most of that is dealt with down at HQ/Samsung.

On a positive note though, we’re almost finished with the 4G data center in Rochester and Syracuse, so you should see a nice increase in speed and decrease in latency soon! (once Samsung comes out with that bug fix for your phone of course haha). Right now all our 4G data traffic is back hauled to regional centers in Boston and Connecticut (10Gbps SONET paths)

Thanks for the PM, I responded to that already.

As far as the speeds, I’m in Bloomfield (west of Canandaigua). I believe I can see a tower from my window at work, so maybe 1/4 mile away from it…
