lastest rumor… Sabres defenceman Jay McKee will not suit up for his team’s critical game 7 against Carolina on Thursday night. Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff said Thursday that McKee has an infection in his leg which has caused flu symptoms. Ruff said that it is a freak thing which woke him up at 5am Wednesday in severe pain. so if that’s the case…i think they will either dress Paetsch and put Vanek as a foward or… use Pominville on D ---

It’s just a rumor. I know people and they say it couldn’t get that bad in two days (since last game). I think he had the flu and flew out there today. Play with Carolina’s minds a bit. ---

WGR has confirmed it ☹ Mckee And Numminen Out For Game 7 Nick Mendola - Thursday, June 1, 2006 - 11:43 AM Raleigh, NC (WGR 550) - Sabres coach Lindy Ruff has declared defenseman Jay McKee out for tonight’s Game 7 of the Eastern Confrence Finals in Raleigh. McKee has what Ruff calls a “freak infection” in his leg. WGR’s Paul Hamilton is reporting that McKee recieved treatment in a Buffalo-area hospital last night. He did not fly with the team to Raleigh. A cut McKee suffered during the Ottawa series was the cause for the infection. Paul Hamilton is also reporting that injured defenseman Teppo Numminen did not take the morning skate at the RBC Center in Raleigh, NC. Hamilton said the skate was not optional. Keep it tuned here all day for details from Paul Hamilton and the staff here at WGR Sportsradio 550. ---
