While I thought Price wasn’t going to be ready for the playoffs, he definitely hasn’t been a bust like a lot of you are making him seem. He wasn’t pulled for sucking last night, he was pulled because the team in front of him needed a fire lit under their asses. The same goes for the people saying Kipper sucked because he got pulled in the SJ series. I thought he actually made some pretty amazing saves.

Before this series started I was all-in for Montreal winning. But now I’m really liking the idea of a Pittsburgh-Philly Conference Final. I’ve already adopted Pitts as my team for the rest of the playoffs, so I’m just going to root for the most exciting potential series.

^ While I didn’t watch the game I saw the highlights and that first goal Price let in was horrible. 2nd wasn’t much better.

I don’t even think they would need to play Huet. Just having him there takes so much weight off the shoulders of your rookie. No longer is the rookie thinking “ok, it’s up to me or this team that everyone expects to be at least in the eastern finals and likely for the cup finals is going to lose”.

The kid is a GREAT goalie, and it’s likely he will only get better. But I’m pretty much 100% certain this was too much pressure for him.

Montreal is a lot like the Sabres. When they’ve got great goaltending they take chances on offense and more than not capitalize on them. As soon as the goaltending gets suspect the teams style of play is all screwed up.

fixed, Washington got the steal of the year there, although there have been worse trades.

So Philly’s up 2-1, big deal. I still think Montreal should win this series.

As for tonight, LET’S GO RANGERS!!!

did you watch the 2nd goal from his view? it clearly changes direction off of the defenseman’s leg, not much to do on that one. i dunno why your so set on proving your point about price to everyone 😛 unless its still side effects from living near there haha

He was screened on the 1st goal and the 2nd goal was a deflected shot like 8 feet (Harry Neale) in front of him. Not trying to make excuses for him, but they weren’t exactly soft goals. Montreal’s problem seems mirrored to Buffalo’s issues in the 06-07 playoffs. They’ve had way too many turnovers that are just killing them. Hitting 2 or 3 posts last night didn’t help them much either.

I’m guessing that Rangers and Pitts split 1-1 at MSG, then Pitts finished them off at home in game 5.

.

And Philly takes both games at home, then goes up and kicks the quebecois separatists in the nuts on Montreal’s home ice. Montreal burns. JayS is happy.

I’m not so sure that Dallas will beat Detroit. As of right now Turco \>\>\>\>\>\> Osgood and Hasek, but Detroit is like an all-star team with better than average goaltending. I would love love love to see The Burgh against the Wings; that series would be flipping amazing.
