One was a Ford engine and the other was something pretty old. I asked why they weren’t Honda engines and he gave me all sorts of reasons why they don’t work in those cars.

Realistically, how much does a decent example of a Caterham/Caterham Super 7 cost if one were to want to buy one?

I’ve seen them between $25-50k (usually around 30) on LotusTalk depending on which model and what engine they have.

I know they came with a 4cylinder GM motor at one point as well. Wonder if that was the other motor.

That guy with all of the Lotus’s used to sell t-shirts in the back of Motor Trend or Car and Driver (don’t remember exactly which, been a while). The t-shirts said “Drive Fast and Take Chances”. I ordered 2 shirts over the phone and when I gave him my address, he said “why don’t you just come over and pick them up?, I’m 10 minutes from you.” He must have printed them in his basement because he had racks of them in all different sizes and colors. He was pretty cool dude. He only had 1 or 2 Lotus’s back then.
