That’s what I suggested at the time but I did not have any at the time I was over there. Hopefully he can try that soon I really want to help him out. The inside of his ski is very very clean for its age. It should run like a bear once this fuel issue is taken care of.

I still think the selector valve is probably plugged. 120psi compression is def enough to run/ride though

Ya That is what I was thinking. I mean it would be worth the 10 bucks in fuel hose and bypass the valve. @91MR2

The valves are cheap to replace, but you could prob clean it out with carb cleaner and a toothpick or somthing.

On my XLT1200 i used a transfer pump to pull the fuel out the tank to get things going to the carbs. Got it running with the pump still hooked up then removed it. No matter how long i cranked it, it would not pull the fuel from the tank when it was bone dry. Once i got it pumped to the carbs and ran it a couple times, i took it to the river and it started every time and ran perfect.

It most be something where it only generates enough vacuum when the engine is running. Understandable… I considered this too but I cant believe that it would not draw something with cranking… Well Hopefully He This^ before he throws anymore money at it. Even If he does not want to go through all that if he could get it to run for a bit on starter fluid and that should hopefully get gas close enough to the Pump and or engine.

AHHH!
This thing ran at my friend’s shop (albiet not for long as we did not want to run it out of water for a more than a few seconds…), I took it to the water last night, and no start again! Again, seems like no fuel, bec. I got compression, and great spark…what’s a girl to do now?

Gotta run it longer on land, let her run for about 2 min and see what she does
ps did you ever swap out fuel lines?

I did not swap out fuel lines, they are like new - if anything, I will try to blow them out…that is my next step…hope to have an update tomorrow…

Ok…so, it runs, and runs seemingly well…we suspect old fuel/flooding was my issue the other day…however…
I have no drive…the prop shaft is spinning, but I got nothing as far as impeller (?) movement…very disappointed…
Going to start to take things apart now and see what happens…
I’m really bummed…was so excited for a minute there, running in the water…

You dident miss anything on sunday Bud! It was so choppy out I just puttered around behind the break wall for about an hour and put it back on the trailer lol… Get working on that thing and lets shoot for this weekend or maby tomorrow if its decent out…

Thanks guys…
I started to take things apart last night. I should know more by lunchtime today…will keep everyone posted…
On one hand, this is really frustrating, but on the other hand, I am learning a lot about the machine, and am slowly working my way through all the systems, and cleaning/refreshing everything as needed…I just hope the cost to repair whatever I got going on with the drive section is not beyond reason…I am starting to approach the limit of what I feel the machine is worth investing in…but I’m also starting to like the little turd a bit…

Truth. I think everyone that has a older SKi is saying the same thing… But hey… Then again you could have a Ski payment and pay full coverage on it all winter lol
You got this. That first time out on the water again will be worth it.

Ok guys, got an update…
I took the whole drive assembly apart…the impeller wheel was stripped where it connects to the prop shaft (although the prop shaft looks great still). I have a friend/mechanic who has a '94 Sea Doo XP for spare parts which has the same size diameter impeller wheel (although different pitch, a concept that is still very green to me…) that I am going to buy from him and give a try…fingers…crossed?

I figured it was a “spun” impeller.
Changing pitch is like swapping the rear diff gear in your car.
