Like Onyx said, air != water. Even a 15 mph plunge into water is going to put way more force on that mount than 140mph in air. The whole water not being compressible is a bitch.
That said, get handlebar mount + a float door and it will be fine. It will survive 99% of impacts with nothing more than getting rotated on the bar and in that 1% crash where it gets ripped off you’ll be able to spot the bright floating thing easy enough.

I have the floating door on mine but not even sure it would float the camera +plus mount lol might just ditch the floating door and use a tether to my handle bar.

My 2000 GTI needs a rebuild:
- Heblers found oil in the magneto housing - oil may have splashed on to stator and pick up coil when hitting waves
- Removed flywheel and cleaned out oil
- Found stator plate misaligned, adjusted stator plate, reassembled and rain on fluch
- Engine has a slight knock to it
Who can do a rebuild for me (shop/person)?

Don’t take it to that shop on walden. Nothing but problems from him. You can find good prices on crate motors from SBT that are drop in ready.

Ok, so here is an update…
To refresh, I got my machine up and running - sounded great - but upon release into the water, I had no impeller action…
Fast forward to this past week, and everything in the drive-line got pulled apart. The impeller wheel spline was stripped. Ok, that is annoying, but seemingly simple enough to just replace. No big deal, right? Well, upon removing the driveshaft, we found another issue. There is a needle bearing within a driveshaft seal carrier assembly through which the driveshaft goes through the hull and out to the jet drive. That needle bearing was also blown up…hmm…seems like someone sent something awfully thick through the impeller wheel at some point, and just kept going until it all blew apart…
Ok, so that is annoying too, however, it can be fixed…only problem being that the needle barrier that blew up made the seal carrier housing a bit damaged - and that seal carrier housing has been out of production for years, and not even eBay has an inventory of them…
Luckily, I have a good friend who can pretty much fix anything. Brough him the seal carrier housing, and he cleaned it up real good and basically built a round inner sleeve to act as a shim so the new needle bearing can fit in snug, and we are back in business…he also sturdied the assembly on the outside too with a perimeter sleeve…sweet…
So the other day, I go to put it all together…but now the driveshaft does not quite fit through the needle bearing…you must be fucking joking me…
Long story short, we suspect Sea Doo builds their new needle bearings to a slightly smaller spec. to account for driveshaft wear…so now I am off to find a machine shop (ie., someone with a lathe) to put my driveshaft in a lathe and basically emery cloth it until it is down to the appropriate size…we are talking thousandths of an inch here…
So that is where this saga leaves off…I have attached exploded views for further clarification…I got the 2 seals and needle bearing new OEM, and the assembly is now like new, too…the fat part on the left part of the driveshaft needs to be turned down a hair…anyone know anyone with a lathe???

Thanks for the link and info - who do you recommend to drop this in? I need to ask SBT what is the difference between the standard and premium engines.
