# Offset

Can anyone help me out here? Will 18x9 with a +22mm offset in the front and 18x10 with a +24mm offset in the back bolt right on to a car with 0 offset? All help is greatly appreciated. BTW I looked at the sticky and the picture just confused me further.

Ok if the picture confuses you, maybe you shouldn’t be attempting this.
Anything will bolt up if you have the right bolt pattern. The question is will it rub (the wheels/tires against suspension or body parts). That’s where the offset comes in.
You need to provide a lot more info. Specifically:
-car
-tire sizes
-suspension setup
If you are still confused, try using one of the calculators linked in the Tech library. Punch in your stock wheel/tire/offset combo, and try to match the overall diameter to whatever you are planning to run. The closer to stock diameter the better. Until you understand what you are doing, I wouldn’t try doind anything that is not very close to stock overall diameter.

wheels have an offset, not a car.
so if you mean that your car comes stock with a +0 offset (which i doubt) then your specs still wouldnt help because you need to know the wheel widths of the stock wheels.
more over, just because the offsets and widths are whatever they are does not mean they will clear calipers, that has to do with not only offset and width but also spoke design and the width of the disc / mounting pad of the wheel.

Yeah, I know all that. And my vehicle DOES have a +0 offset. Now will 18x9 with a +22mm offset in the front and 18x10 with a +24mm offset in the rear bolt right up to my truck which runs 15x6.5 with 0 OFFSET and 20x8.5 with 0 OFFSET fine. Stock suspension and the vehicle is a Ford Explorer. And I undersrtood the picture it just confused me actually after looking at the picture I couldn’t figure out if the wheel would clear the calipers. Any more help?

really not sure where you are getting exploders have a stock offset of 0, they have stock offset of +38 mm on a 17x9 wheel

I’m getting that from the two sets of wheels that have 0 offset. Why does eveyone continue to argue that I don’t have 0 offset when both my stock and 20" wheels have 0 offset. Can’t someone just give me a straight up answer.

because a 0 offset wheel, stock, gives you about a 3" lip, not that hard to comprehend that there is a mistake you are making somewhere

1997 Ford Explorer’s have 0 offset. Look it up and then prove me wrong please.

sorry, i was referring more to doubting that a car has a 0 offset.
i dont care about exploders so it didnt occur to me.

Only fit 2002- 2003 exploreres. All of those wheels will not fit on a 1997. Yet again I prove my point that my wheels have 0 offset.

psst read the link you even posted, offsets vary up to 38mm depending on the wheel

He didn’t say anything about brakes hotshot. If they are stock it won’t matter. The range on Explorers are 0 - +35 or something like that.
If he had aftermarket brakes, he would probably understand offset and not be asking this kind of question.
