In the event of a flip your supposed to relax and make sure you dont let go of the bottom of the wheel, also make sure your thumbs arent into the wheel, so if it jerks violently it dosent break your thumbs. ---

Actually in a crash in a racing situation you’re supposed to grab either your shoulder loops on your racing suit or your shoulder belts. ---

Since you probably don’t know what a tq midget is they are open wheel full on race cars, powered by modified 750cc bike motors (usually suzuki gsxr or kawi zxwhatever). They only weight ~850lbs with driver and are so much fun to fucking drive, super fast super agile, a little hard to drive due to their handling characteristics but a blast none the less. Leaving your body as limber as possible during a crash will lessen your injuries compared to tensing up. hence when there is a collision between a drunk driver and a sober driver, the drunk usually always lives ---
