# Oil... how does it work? \[split\]

Dude, of course. What you’re not understanding AT ALL is that a 5W-30 oil is THINNER at 210 degrees than it is at 32 degrees.

And yet another thing that you’re not understanding is that you CANNOT COMPARE THE 5W number to the 30 number SINCE THEY REPRESENT DIFFERENT SCALES OF MEASUREMENT.
