I’m getting tired of playing the computer games I have and there’s not all that much great coming out for PC anymore. So I was thinking I need a PS2 or some other platform. I know you can get a PS2 now for 150 bucks new which is cheap. But is it really worth it? I mean the new PS will be out in how long? So what should I do just suffer with the games I have for PC and buy a new PS when they come out? Or, just buy a PS2 because it’s cheap now.

ps3 wont be out for a couple more years. the xbox 360 is coming out rather soon and should be pretty dope. next year the nintendo revolution will be out as well. so if you really are wanting to buy a new video game, wait. all the ones out now will be worthless because you wont be able to buy new games with them anymore.plus all the new systems i believe still allow you to use all the old games you have still with the new systems

PS3 Dated
We’re still at the Sony E3 press conference and still trying to pump out the news as quickly as possible, so forgive the brief nature of these reports.
With that said, Sony has announced the PayStation 3 in a big damn way. The latest news is that the system will ship in 2006, with no chance of wacky 2005 surprises.
Unfortunately, Sony has not pinned down a month or quarter in which the system will launch, but Microsoft’s Bill Gates recently said that he will launch the Xbox 360 version of Halo 3 to combat the PS3 launch, which he indicated could be as early as the Spring of 2006.
More details to follow.
UPDATE: PS3 now official confirmed for release in the spring of 2006.

Sony have also confirmed that the Playstation 3 console is to use a Blu-Ray Disk format. The Blue-Ray disks can hold about five times as more as a regular DVD can. It is hopped to take over the use of digital media as well as console gaming. Blu-Ray gives more accurate blue laser light than the traditional red laser light. This new piece of hardware is what gives the medium increase in data-storing properties.

The PS3 will support the following drive formats: It will also support CR-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R formats.

Agreed xbox \> PS2, with a mod chip and a 120gig HD you can have a ton of games for little money, But you cant play on live unless you own the game and the mod chip is turned off, otherwise they will cancel your subscription.

I used to think the console’s were a waste of money, but now it seems the pc games suck ass and the console games are the only ones worth playing. I think my 3 year old needs an xbox for christmas. :naughty: 😃

not exactly 😉
i play online games all the time.
playing with a real xbox live account is touchy though… there are way around it, they just aren’t worth the PITA …
