dude, i have a scaled down version of that in form of a go-kart!!. my grandpap worked at an Olds dealer and somehow got me one of the gokarts when i was little. i still have it. its sweet lookin its all fiberglass body.

areotech was responsible for many developments in oldsmobiles production cars, the quad 4, the aurora 4.0. The 92 aurora areotech still owns 47 USAC records.

my 2.4 which isnt the true 2.3 quad 4 never needed a headgasket

I got to see specs and pics of a quad 8 that never made it to production but they ad it in a FWD calais body but set up as a RWD. The race quad 4 stuff is pretty heavy duty but i don’t care enough to really learn about it. Olds had some pretty sick shit and made plenty of advancements and firsts for GM, too bad they felt the need to get rid of it. When GM went corporate and killed the RWD it really did a lot of damage. I’d still like to get an aurora to drive daily but since olds is no more i don’t trust the availability of parts should something go wrong.

The early pre 1990 quad had this problem. And the SOHC quad 4 made in 92-93 was the most common motor to have this problem. Other then that, the 1990-1995 quad 4 2.3L didnt have this problem, nore did its 2.4L Twin Cam little brother.

Yea the Calais 442 w41 with the quad 4 w41 motor made 190hp and ran the quater in 14.7 seconds, I still dont know the number they made of these, but i do know it was less then the number of SCX’s they made in 92-93 (about 1,500 in 92 and only 500 in 93). The more common calais was the W40 with the quad 4 HO that made 180hp.

don’t have anymore info and the guy was a guest speaker at the hurst nationals, i only met him. but his name is bill porterfield so maybe you can google him.
