a decent serious conversation would be like the fitness thread, where people can actually benefit from reading, where people can be educated on something that members actually know what they are talking about. but there is so much descretion on what is a serious conversation. But i dont think people would be stupid enough to make a thread “OMG EMPLOYEE IS HOT SHOULD I BANG HER” like half the threads in OT are in a “serious subforum”. this is an automotive forum, and its a nice benefit to have an offtopic from cars, but i would say it strays from the purpose of this site ---

Cars. I hang out with friends because we have common interests, but we don’t always talk about one thing. However when we are having a serious conversation say related to politics, I wouldn’t appreciate one of them yelling “OMG I took a purple shit yesterday” in the middle of our conversation. Personally I like this Idea, but I think that our OT is the section that it should be. OT is meant to be OT, but it doesn’t mean all threads can just derail and crash into a swamp. ---

IMO fry is the right one here. Some threads are just fucked from the start, others are not. Mods should use their own discretion as to which ones need to be cleaned up and which ones don’t. You guys are trying to over-complicate/clutter the site, and push it further and further from Gen Auto to strictly OT. ---

Instead of several threads being shitted on, where the discussion would usually seep into a thread with similar relevance (I see this in the political threads mostly) you would have just one page where you know the topic would not be ruined… Not overcomplicated or cluttered… Just one damn subforum ---

Yeah, that was me not Nikuk. He’s managed to fight off disillusionment better than myself. Anyhow, yeah. No need for dueling OT’s, although if we had them I’d name them heaven and hell. That way atheists couldn’t post because they would deny their existence. :lol: One OT is fine. Actually this is a great time to remind you guys that there is a report post button. It sort of looks like a little yield sign under everyone’s names. If someone comes in and takes a purple shit in an OT thread you actually care about, use it. It sends an email to all mods asking us to come wipe up. :tup: ---

Oh and on another point… I feel a lot of members on this site have A LOT of valuable information and insight to offer on a very broad variety of topics. Bun unfortunately will resort to the “dickhead” or trying to be funny approach to people threads or ideas… To me this is like the kid in elementary school who the teacher claims “hes a very bright boy when he applies himself” to the child parents. A sub forum like this would really bring out “the best” in a lot of members imho… ---

Yes, please use the report post button. It just sends out an email with a link and your comment. “Hey this should be in the NWS section” or “This guy is a dick. Ban him.” So we click the link, take a look, and act accordingly. ---

If YOU (meaning any poster out there) have an issue with something, please just use the report post. We can take care of it from there. It’s your community and it’s up to you to take care of what’s around you. If you see garbage on your lawn don’t you pick it up? The same thing applies here. I think if we separate it into 2 forums we’ll just get morlocks and elois. We need to bring the complete community to a common ground, not separate it.
