since when is it illegal to transport alcohol as long as you are of age?
unless you are talking about open beer cans, then yes, that is on the dumb side of things one can do to get a ticket.

You will pay anywhere from 50-100 in fines most likely. They may or may not add NYS surcharges to it to.

oh man I had no idea this was even illegal. I’ve been pulled over a bunch of times and when they asked if I have anything I want to tell them about i’ve been like, “ive got a bottle of gin in the back seat.” when I was getting arrested I said that, and the cop said " got any orange juice? we could have a party right on the side of the road here" haha… another time I had a 1/2 drank bottle of red wine I had been drinking with another certain board member (eviljay) while driving down to the city the night before. the cop was like were you drinking that today? and I was like no, last night… he didn’t care. well now I know. huh.

I wonder if they wanted to be assholes, if they could write you for returning beer cans (obviously open containers)
