I submit that the operating cost of my '03 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is currently about 32 cents per mile, since Oct '03: around 51500 miles around $11000 spent on fuel around $500 for a set of tires at nearly 35000 miles around $2000 in routine service and maintenance and inspections around $3000 in insurance if you include the purchase price of it (with platinum warranty, tax/title/out the door of 27K), the total operation and ownership is currently around 84-ish cents per overall mile. I’m fairly impressed for what it is and how hard I drive it. I’m due for tires, so at 52000 I’ll be up another 500 for tires probably and that puts me up at 33 cents per mile if I did it today. Does anyone here keep the operating cost per mile on their vehicles? I’d like to see the real-world numbers from some pittspeeders and what rides they kept the numbers in. ---

If I drove mine, I could do that. Last year though I did that with my wife’s 2002 Neon…arrived at 13.5 cents/mile. That number is pretty low, due to the fact that it was before she destroyed the tranny twice. ---

Including the purchase price of the Accord, I’m probably around 20-25 cents per mile. ($3K car / 40 k miles) 🙂 ---

I put an exhaust on it and never even changed the oil. Although I really didn’t put many miles on it before selling. Notwithstanding insurance I got paid to ride that. ---
