That time has come for me to reprioritize things in my life. The first, and largest step is to move onto another car platform. I bought the vette when I was still with my g/f of 5 years because we had everything planned and it made sense then. Well, now I need to reprioritize and move on since she decided to be a whore and I decided to actually think about who I was really dating. I am looking at one car platform specifically and do not plan on moving away from it.

I would like to buy a 2004 and up Audi A4 (no 1.8), if anyone has any reviews or opinions on this car and what it is. I am not planning extensive mods, other than rims and some other small things. It will be used daily for work, etc. The newer the better, highest mileage I will buy is 60K and IF at all possible a S4 would be AWESOME. But I would like my budget to stay under $18K. Anyone?

You can find S4’s under 18K for sure, and they are an awesome car, although very pricey at times. GL man

I am getting away from the RWD sports car. I need something all year around.

Also, I would consider the A6 as well, 2005 and up, pref. S. line.

Votblindub here can chime in here, as an A6 owner.

Sounds like you got solid logic behind your choice, get an extended warranty if possible, and I wouldn’t consider something that’s not CPO.

Celtics’s is a salesman of Audi/Vw so he can give his insight as well.

Vette is a good toy, Qauttro Audi is a good car.

whoaa, just because he has the car, doesnt mean you should recommend him to anyone inquiring about an audi… for real.

anything with a 4.2 will run into expensive repair bills if you cant do the work yourself as they are notorious for upper oil pan leaks on 03+ 4.2’s(engine removal required) and most older 4.2s from the D2 A8 and the A6’s had oilcooler issues which you can ask germanpsi, or amd is the best about, they did the repair on germanpsi’s moms car… no easy feat. the audi autos arent very great transmission, especially older tiptronics. the DSG gear boxes are great though

2.8 and 3.0 30v V6’s are 75-90k timing belt cars, if you cant do it yourself, thats gonna be ~400+ labor to do

audis love to eat up brakes and wheel bearings.

older audis lke to destroy the front control arms

minor electrical issues here and there, usually related to the climatronic and abs modules.

but like it has been said on here about audis, do REGULAR PREVENTATIVE MAITENANCE AND THE CAR WILL HOLD UP ALOT BETTER. sure things will fail, any car will eventually, but a little bit of love goes along way on these machines.

coolant is ~15$ per gallon for the car
power steering fluid is expensive too, its mineral hydraulic fluid, not the normal pepboys special.
oil is synthetic and most are 6.5+ quarts

**id honestly recommend and CPO B7 A4 2.0t… they are pretty powerful(200hp) and take well to a chip/reflash(~500$) and can be had with the 6speed manual, and the ultra sport B7s look awesome**

LOL, a Vette is just as good a ‘car’ as an Audi. Perfectly acceptable for daily driving in warmer climates.
