how many of you have seen this bumper sticker? Today I was talking to one of my friends and he seems uber proud of his sticker on his chevy colorado but it didnt take long to ruin his fun when I pulled up wiki and found out his truck could have been assembled in thailand! and the s10’s were made in brazil… Wow I don’t think I’m buying one of those trucks ever

I have very seriously thought about asking Martino to make up opposite stickers:
Upside down on your car loan yet? Keep buying American.
On your 4th transmission yet? Keep buying American
$80k a year for $40k’s worth of work? Keep buying American… or go to teacher’s college
I also saw these stickers on a Nissan Sentra… laughed.

the new chevy cruze and buick regal are made in germany ( regal will be made in oshawa later on) and the caddy SRX is made in mexico
i hate those stickers so much … if they made quality and tasteful products before, they wouldnt have had this problem

Minimum 75% US made requirement to make this list apparently. Half of it is “foreign”. There are a lot of parts designed by suppliers in NA that only have to meet specs from overseas, not copying some drawing sent over directly. I’ve heard in that that the big 3 are sourcing more and more to China now than ever before so since suppliers here aren’t necessarily dropping like flies, someone’s giving them business…

SIIIQQQQQ, a large percentage of people that assemble cars in Oshawa are PURE WHITE TRASH. I used to work around the corner for a coop. On my commute I would spot the most redneck trashiest people and then watch them turn into the plant. You know your white trash when you look like you havent slept yet, hung over, smokin a spliff at 7am and a dirty beard with a hat to match.
I HATE those people with that sticker, I feel like a scrap would go down after only a few sentences.

Also… ask a GM employee how much they love their job. Then ask a Toyota employee. Hahaha. Free yoga classes/gym/stress counselling.
My friend Quinn rocked one of those stickers on his rx7… he had to take it off, because of the demographic it pisses off. Truckers/rednecks/football stars etc. He literally almost got run off the road a couple times.

just gonna say there is much more to where a companies money goes then where the cars are built… just because its not built in north america doesnt mean that a majority of the money is going to the local economy.
but still buy the best product not suport a country blindly its a global economy

china is gonna be the next super power country… everything is outsourced to them and they pay their workers like $5 a day, how can anyone compete with that? Most companies dont look at the quality of the finished product, just the bottom line and who will make them more profit. North america is going down the shitter, we need to stop importing product that we can create ourselves!
example! go to the grocery store, and check out the onions… bare with me here!.. the ones that are nicely packaged and bleached white, guess where their from? CHINA… then looks at the shitty looking brownish yellow ones. Made in Canada!.. china has the right ideas when it come to selling products, but i wouldnt eat an onion that has been soak in bleach just so i can buy the “pretty package”…
anyway, im rambling again

They can do that when they pay them jack shit. The import companies go for the Southern non-union states with a bunch of hillbillies that will work for anything because they need jobs. The difference is that the GM employee actually makes a living wage, they can buy their own gym membership.
