It’s a Ford, for frigs sakes. Fuckin brakes are shot as soon as it left the dealers lot in 2006. Run the sonuvabitch and make the front wheel glow red. ---

Apparently theres nothing wrong. I took it to Metro Ford this afternoon and they couldn’t find anything wrong either. Everything seem to be working ok and the rear brakes are still ok. ---

paul, i see this all the time, the caliper cradles get rusted up and cruddy not allowing the pads to release. even with greasing the caliper slide pins they stick. or, it could just be a case of the jellies. who knows. :skid ---

I though you said it doesnt stop good? If I were you i’d get some better pads on, maybe that specific pad is just not a good match to those. I tried hawk LTS pads on the last truck brakes I did for a 3500 dually tow rig and they were pretty damn good. Pads make the biggest difference of any braking component. From my experience Advance auto wearever and napa junks do not bring home the bacon. They also have a strong tendency to deposit on the rotor and cause pedal pulsation depending on your driving habits. What most people call warping even though its not a accurate description. ---

It stops when I want it to but it seems like it settles funny. I’m thinking that might be an issue with the struts being worn though. I plan on replacing them soon anyway. If it continues to have issues I’ll replace the pads and see if that helps. The dealer tech suggested ceramic pads as an alternative. ---

I took the caliper off the other day, and the pads just fell out. Not stuck at all ---

Yeah next step IMO would be replacing the pads with something better. Maybe there is a manufacturing defect of some kind. ---

Use silicone instead of grease like you’re supposed to and your problems will go away. Paul. ---

Or back the bracket bolts up a few turns to relieve stress off the rotor, give those friction surfaces some breathing room. ---

Its caliper lube just like I used to use when I worked in repair shops. The right shit for the job. I had somebody tell me the brakes might need bleeding because there could be air in the lines. ---
