So I was washing the car and noticed a nice chuck of blacktop on the side of my car, so I picked it off. Now there is a nice spot where the blacktop spot used to be. The clear coat is just gone in that spot. What preventative things should I do before it starts to come off or flake away?? What can I do to fix or replace the clear coat? ---

Brian, clean the spot very well first. Just use soap and water and make sure there is no dirt left. You might even want to clean it after with a little alcohol. I’m assuming it is close to the bottom portion of your car as it was road debris. Take your girlfriend’s clear nail polish and brush over the spot lightly. It will hold the clear together and prevent water/ice from working at the clear. ---
