These seats aren’t really uncomfortable at all so long as you position them correctly and you get the right size. I wouldn’t want to drive cross country in the things, but that’s more so because they are an nonadjustable race seat. ---

Is clearance for a helmet/cage the purpose? I can’t imagine 40 pounds makes a difference in a 10 second f-bod. ---

there a great seat to use. the high back makes it so you can’t hit your head on the hoop. I dont drive around on the street with a helmet so its safer. And they harness fit them great, stock camaro seats don’t work with them very good and are not safe to use. I had some other light seats and these work the best for what I wanted, I’ve had them in all year and put a few 1000 street miles on them. no problems they are great. ---

not to steal the thread, but i was more worried about the bars that will be along side my head; “the halo,” even though it won’t technically be a halo. my current seats are ~1" higher than stock, and i need something lower than stock. right now, if i lean my head to the left, i hit my head where the bar will be. so to answer fry’s question, clearance IS what i’m looking for ---

Try them some time. There has not been one person that has sat in them in didn’t like them. But everyone at 1st goes “wow alum seats???wtf? they don’t look comfortable?” I can’t sit for 30s mins I get stiff, and have to crack my back. Movies I do it a few times, eating out at most places, even getting a hircut. ---
