# Patching a tire

gf’s car has a flat. i changed it and did a quick scan but i didnt see any big holes. anyone know where i should go to have someone look at it?

could try putting regular water or soapy water on it and see where it bubbles. its funny i just searched patching a tire because i have a nail in my summer tire

dip it in a pool or a stationary tub and look for bubbles

look it over slowly, not a quick scan.
You will see the nail/damage.

well, i know there is a hole. thats not the issue. i just need to find it. but what should i do about it? a guy at work said it isnt that bad to do it yourself.

fill it up to 50 psi or so, stick it in a pool or stationary tub and look for bubbles. if its the valve stem, you have to get a new one put in and clean/ seal the rim. you cant do this yourself without a tire machine. (same deal with a bead leak) if its an object in the tread more than an inch away from the sidewall, you can pull it with some pliers and use a patch kit that is sold at pep boys, autozone ect.
keep in mind the only way to patch a tire when its still on the rim is a pull thru patch and is not an ideal method.
