the thruway is the safest, and fastest way through NY. you dont have to drive on the thruway to get to NYC… you can take broadway the whole way if you want. take rt 20…that’ll get you to some very far places. basically you gotta pay to play. ---

tolls suck ass, and i think the state is charging enough god damn money for gas as it is. They dont need these tolls to further empty our pockets. I happily signed the petition. Fuck the state and all its money-hungry assholes :shoot: ---

We have the worst roads and the highest tolls in the northeast. Petition signed. As for my property taxes going up 1500 dollars if the toll booths were taken down… umm… 🤣 I don’t think the average household spends anywhere near 1500 dollars per year on tolls so that makes no sense. The tolls pay for tow trucks? Nope. The tolls pay for snowplows? Within the last year tolls went up and snowplows got cut. A bit of common sense shows that the primary function of the toll program is to pay the overhead of the toll program. What revenue it does generate could be made up for by some intelligent financial planning. Whatever, they’re not going away no matter what so I’m wasting brain cells thinking about it that I could be wasting drinking Genny Lite… ---

In summer… For an 8 hour shift… I am in the booth a total of 6 hours max… I average between 2-3 thousand dollars in that time… In some lanes if you are in the booth more then 1.5 hours… you seriously have no where to put all the money… have you ever seen 1200 dollars in ones?! … or howabout 190 dollars in quarters…I collect like a mad man… I do anywhere between 250-350 cars an hour.
