My buddy went 142 with a b16 tranny at around 9300 oh i see. he must have been on 26in slicks then because with a 24.5 a b16 trans will only take you to around 137-138 at 9300rpm…thats what the math says, but the math was wrong on ours too so it might not even be that fast. we have a guy we compete with a lot that is usually in the high to mid 10’s and he just switched to an LS and he hasnt been back in the 10’s since he did, so its wasnt just us it didnt work out for lol. we are using a gsr and we are still in 4th right before the 1/8. we done some research and people seem to just have more luck with spinning the motor a little higher in our situation. really we arent going to need more than 100 or maybe 200 more rpm to be able to trap over 150 but we need the valvetrain so we can do it reliably and not be scared to float valves every other run down the track. we are going with a slightly bigger tire to help with the gearing too. its only a 25in tire but it grows more than the 24.5 on the big end. but we might find out that this is not a good way for us either… gotta try it to find out i guess. --- _[View the full topic](https://forums.speedlife.net/t/pfc-hatch-at-import-face-off/246657)._
