Ignorance is bliss. I’m willing to bet that people for this type of press would be outraged if it happened to a relative of theirs. I also believe they with disagree with this until it actually happened. On another note, I’m all for a mandatory two year enlistment after high school to open eyes and show a greater respect for the liberties active duty provides. Too many take everything they have for granted. I also believe you should do your time before having such criticism since te majority of the public haven’t a fucking clue what they’re talking about. ---

We would all be speaking german right now. ---

My respect for the men and women who enlist to fight for our country. With that said, things are a bit different in this day and age with regards to a “mandatory two year enlistment” to “open our eyes”. Back in our grandparents days there werent many options. You became a soldier, worked in a factory, or were one of the few that went forward with an education. Im not saying I would never fight for my country, Id rather be doing it on my home turf though and for the right reasons. ---

I agree that things are much different these days. The public generally hasn’t a clue what goes on in the military or law enforcement, but they seem to be experts. Offering opinions with little to no facts to back them up. Fucking bleeding hearts… ---

Even a lot of the people where I am training still have that same sense of self-entitlement. But I’m not certain that has changed, just human nature. Give some they want more. Rather sickening.
