Pulled out the D40 for the first time in months. Have no idea what Im doing with it. Had the kit lens and some cheap-o wide lens attachment that screws on to the end of it. Two weeks ago, took the Crv up a decent trail near Kingston. Here it is at the peak, that overlooks i87. That is the moon in the background, but it didnt show up nearly as well as I hoped. She’s not very photogenic though. Every time I try to take a pic she stops and puts her head down. Jim and Vlad can vouch lol. ---

So here we are just 24hrs later and here’s the ‘video’ back from Curiosity – it’s not very impressive taken out of context but what is most interesting is how it looks pretty much exactly like I would imagine it would and exactly like the computer simulations – at the end of the video you can even see the rockets fire in the final stage of the descent (least, I’m pretty sure that’s what it is and NASA don’t have much info on this as yet) The full video “will just be exquisite,” said Michael Malin, the chief scientist of the instrument.
