paul why did you grind the p/bearing down ? that was extremely moronic if that was your idea im gonna kick you in the balls ,if that was your MECHANICS idea im never gettin in your car again if he did any other work on it

Not actually the bearing, just the bushing.

If I remember right you told me after I bought that one. I was told there was nothing wrong with this one and yet it puked black fluid.

Just the bushing. The bearing wasnt touched. It didnt fit in the crank like it should have.
It wasnt my idea but it worked.
Both bearing/bushings I had were the same size. He checked it to the one still in the old motor.

The small cylindrical brass ‘bushing’ is the ‘pilot bearing’. Get one that fits and take that grinded down one out or suffer.

Its aluminum and theres a roller bearing that goes in the middle of it. We didnt grind the bearing part at all.
There isnt one that fits. The ones I had were the right ones for my car.

Yeah, sure is. Alot of progress today.
Tomorrow its pretty much setting the upper intake on and bolting stuff up and hooking up wires and then it should run.
I found out the coolant hose kit I bought is missing a hose so Ive gotta call Summit about that one. Not a huge deal since the hose its replacing is ok now but all the new ones are blue.

Its damn close to running. The headers put up a fight, then the spark plugs (tight spot) and a few other minor things but theres not much left to do to it.
One header needs to be bolted up and then the distributor and some ac shit needs to be put back on.
We realized tonight that I dont have header collector gaskets and of course that was after Advance closed for the night.

Hell no. Even if it runs (which it should) Im not taking it there this week.
I dont want to blow it up before the Lake George show.
Its not really going to have many miles on it this week anyway. Its a brand new motor so Ive gotta break it in a bit.
