im friggin bored… and im looking for a project for the day… the neon must be like 2-3 inches max… where can i buy them local? i dont wanna go to pepboys and spend 20 bucks on a lil neon and 8 bucks for 3 LED’s … i might… but i dont really wanna yet… any ideas… o i need a light for my license plate also… ---

9 inch LED’s? im thinking maybe a swiper bar like from an alarm? or something to that effect… im not going overboard… more or less of a joke or hooked up to an alarm at a later date… Plain LED’s with wire leads will be fine to… especially cuz i need a white one for the license plate to keep me legal ---

I’ve got TONS of red 5mm LEDs, along with the needed resistors if you need them; Can’t help ya with the Neon though. give me a call (585-314-5070) or stop over for the party. ---

Wiring them is easy, I’ll let you use my office/mad-scientist lab if you want to assemble stuff; I’ve got all the components/equipment you’ll need. I don’t have any whites in house at the moment, but I’ve got TONS of reds from a canceled project that I never finished; like 900 left. As for 5mm LEDs, those are the “normal” round ones that you see everywhere. Oh, and as for $74/ea for LEDs what ones are they? The best ones out there for output are Luxeon K2s, and I’ve got the first shipment comming to me from the factory next week. Those are about 140 lumens for a 3 Watt device; and those are only about $18/ea. And as for blinding; I have 1 watt LEDs at work which cost about $5 which will literially blind you temporarly if you look directly at it with an optic on it. ---

Ahhh… it’s a Whelen Light assembly… that’s not a single LED, but an array of a bunch of the ones that I described I’d be willing to bet. They are actually a competator of my company in the Aerospace Lighting market. ---

nope, all the stuff my company does is custom aerospace stuff. All the stuff I do for automotive applications is application specific. So for your usage, those are perfect. ---
