# place to get custom paint on a helmet???

anyone ever have a helmet custom painted? I wanted to have one done as a gift to someone. I figure that i’ll just go to a normal body shop and see who they have around, but if anyone know of anyone thats good with custom paint/airbrushing I can put my business towards them instead.
also if anyone has an idea on cost as well, I figure it shouldn’t be more than $200.

There are a lot of places that can do that.
Expect to spend about $500 or more based on what exactly you want done, plus cost of helmet.
There are some guys in Boulevard Mall that do some pretty good work. Radioactive Cycles has an in house airbrush guy, maybe you can check them out and see what they can do. I’m sure there are others in the area.

Fuck that place in the BLVD mall. My girl had a sweatshirt airbrushed there and they fucked it all up. My girl was in tears cuz they fucked up my xmas gift and they wouldnt refund the 40 bucks for the airbrushing let alone the money for the sweatshirt. They even wrote down exactly what she wanted and they still screwed it up.

If you want it done by one of the pro’s expect to spend $700-$2k depending on design and paint. I’m planning on having my new helmet done after next season.

I saw his $200.00 price limit and I laughed to myself. Expect to pay a hell of a lot more than that. Good painters charge around 1000.00 minimum. I guess they could go cheaper if you just want something simple though.

Troy Lee’s stuff is badass. I have a list of criteria for the design for mine, getting my family crest incorporated into it. But I’m not getting a new helmet till mid next season and not getting it painted till next winter.

damn it, yea I certainly wasn’t expecting it to be that much.
and I’m not looking to have something simple done, it involves skulls in the design so that would ring up some coin I’m sure.
