Oh no, it’s cool and all. I’m sure it WILL directly affect future discoveries & decisions… _buuuuuut_, 2500 astronomers from 75 countries were tied up in this. Yet I still cannot vacation Our own god damned moon.

They didnt _just_ change their mind about it, they set a new guideline about what determines a mass in space to be a planet. Like silver said, it’s not the biggest “discovery” ever, but it’s progress none the less.

wasnt charon classified as a planet from its discovery in the 1800’s till 1908 or thereabouts, and isnt it parallel to the orbit of pluto?
