Yeah alot of people do stuff just to get what’s rare. Back when I had my probes alot of guys were trying to get the european taillights for them which has amber signals and were much uglier than the clean all red tails but they were rare so that’s what they wanted. I personally think the silvia front end is nicer than the popups, but yes I’m sure there are others who would do the swap just to be different regardless of liking it or not. Actually now that I think of it I never used to like the silvia front end when I saw it in pics, but after Chris (Keez) did the conversion on his car and I saw it in person it just gave the car an all new look which I loved.
