Im not Catholic so maybe I don’t know what the rules etc. are in order to pick a new Pope, but Pope John Paul got old and eventualy passed away, so why would they elect a new Pope who is already 78 years old? Should they hae chose someone a little younger? IMO.

Ratzinger was John Paul’'s right hand man. He worked with the former Pope on the doctrines, so the rest of the Church would like to see that same work being carried out.
This isn’t a Mr. Olympia contest, so the criteria is a bit different.
