My guess is this started small but everyone panicked because it was a fire around gasoline. ---

It depends. If it started as a tiny bit of smoke like most fires do, grab the extinguisher that’s 2 feet away and stop it. If it spontaneously combusted into a big fire out of nowhere yeah, run. ---
