Porsche Taycan / Audi E-Tron GT

Hype hype hype… that rear light animation though:

They’re basically saying “don’t worry, if we make an electric car it will still feel like any other Porsche.”

Looks like the Taycan platform will be used for the Audi E-Tron GT as well:

The GT’s specs are eerily similar to those Porsche has indicated for its own Taycan (formerly Mission E). Audi says the GT can get from zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds and to 124 mph in 12 seconds, and tops out at 149 miles per hour. (Porsche says the Taycan will hit the typical 155 mph German-car ceiling) Audi released few details on the suspension, but confirmed the GT has four-wheel steering, presumably derived from Porsche’s rear-steer system.

Calling it “turbo” without having turbos…

The Turbo S also makes 616 HP but maxes out at 750 HP with launch control and overboost, and twists out a staggering 774 lb-ft of torque.

Weighing in at 5,121 pounds, it still manages to achieve an absurd claimed 0 to 60 mph time of 2.6 seconds, and runs a claimed 10.8-second quarter mile.

Holy heavy…youd think the batteries were lead acid at that weight.

0-60 in 2.6 while being +5000lbs. Obviously with electric you get instant torque. Makes you wonder how wide the tires are for grip.

Sooo all that money for a ev and it’s 3 seconds faster than a type r…ummmm

The Taycan yes…however if the rumors about the Tesla S+ are true that makes it the fastest 4 door around the ring by 3 seconds and 20 seconds faster than the type R. Got a feeling that it will also be the fastest production car in the 1/4 until the roadster comes out.
