# Porsche to Aquire 51% stake in VW

Or so it’s rumored. It’s been a long time coming to be honest so it’s not really a surprise. I’m more interested in if they are still planning on taking over Proton/Lotus, but that’s another discussion.

It is interesting to see a one time all out sports car manufacturer become so successful by selling trucks. As much as I hate the idea of Porsche SUVs, if the increased capital helps develop better sports cars, I think I can be OK with it. Perhaps they can help VW develop lightweight fun to drive cars again.
