I’m free all weekend dudeski.

Only certain places will ask for a pistol permit, Wal-Mart being one of them. I’ve never got asked for one at a gun shop, as I’ve bought 9mm and .40 before no problem at all for my Kel-Tec carbines/rifles.  
As per NYS law, you do not need a pistol permit to buy pistol caliber ammunition. You just need to be over 21 I believe.
