An American hostage beheaded by his captors. Captors who said they ridded the world of this prisoner because of the way we treat our prisoners.
The world has rightly made a fuss of that treatment. Odd how it barely said boo about “this” treatment.
A 26-year-old American contractor who wanted to do good apparently doesn’t top a lot of naked Iraqi prisoners we made look bad
There is no excuse for dragging a prisoner by a dog collar. There is no excuse for beheading a prisoner with a large knife.
The dog collar gets the press and the outrage. The beheading gets some press but no outrage

putting aside the argument over the existence of god (being a true agnostic i can only say i neither believe nor disbelieve… i don’t have enough fact to form a theory), the bible is a flawed construct. a VERY flawed construct. its contradictions are endless.
Immanuel Kant, Soren Kierkegaard, and many other philosophers proved this hundreds of years ago.
God is perfect, no?
If God were to be imperfect, He would not be God.
To act in opposition to his own scruples would be imperfection.
This is what makes the story of Abraham such a sack of shit. The story goes that God told Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac, with no intent of actually letting Isaac die. This was God’s test of Abraham’s faith. The problem with that is that God is “perfect” so he cannot use deception (lying…a sin) for ANY means. God CANNOT have “grey areas”. For Him, the ends can never justify the means.

God is perfect though. Deceit is imperfection.
The Judeo-Christian idea of God is that he’s not just omnipotent, but that he’s the source of all that is good, and completely devoid of evil.
I’m not saying there is no God; Yahweh might be laughing his ass off at the fact this is being discussed on an internet car forum. What I am saying is that either the Bible is fucked up (almost assuredly), or that the idea that God is purely good is flawed (also possible, but less likely).

whatever mike…I always stuck up for your ass then you mock me? what kinda shit is that. you are one of the few people I still talk to from the PSR days man that is just fucked up. I take my religion very seriously. you thought I wasn’t goin to get pissed at your sig? come on man you know me better than that.

yeah… i’m really interested in that kinda stuff… i used to want to go into advertizing and the design and symbolism in the old USSR propaganda really struck a chord with me.
America had its propaganda too, but the commies definitely had the better artists.
