# Powder Coating Rims

So last Summer my brother back into my other brothers car, no damage except one of each of their rims got scuffed up, so I’m just wondering if you guys know of any places that powder coat rims in the city. Thanks.

Perfection Powdercoating is the name I hear all the time. I know Prism in the NE does it too.

anybody have any ideas as to how much on average it costs to get a set of rims coated?

I think it was about $60 a wheel, IIRC.
I just went with the Duplicolor wheel coating. Its a spray paint from Crappy tire, but it seems to be working pretty well. A few rock chips, but not bad for $15 for all four wheels.

since we are on the topic, i will use this thread and save some bandwidth…
Other than powdercoating, what is a good product to clean the wheels with ? CLR ? I have residue and build up on the wheels and they dont go away with simple scrubbing anymore.

Prism does good work. I had my crossmember and sway bar done, and they look sexy as hell in my dirty ass engine bay. $180 for both, plus sandblasting.
As for cleaning wheels, I could steal you a bit of this wheel cleaning acid I use at work. It’s very powerful, so I’m sure it’ll clean that residue.

I use acid at work all the time.As long as the wheel is not painted you will be fine.Just don’t leave it on for too long.
As for the powdercoating I would recommend Perfection.From what I have heard they do great work

That was Prism. But give them a call… my memory isn’t the best.
