I’m proud to say I’ve successfully survived a YLOD (Yellow Light Of Death). It only took about an hour and a little bit of heat gun action and voila~! Successful Reflow of the PS3 MOBO. I definitely recommend you take your system apart today and redo the thermal past on the GPU and CPU if you have a Gen1 PS3 that is out of warranty. Mine showed some signs of discoloration thus causing an overheat and some broken solder joints on the MOBO.
