Well according to what Fry just posted “The United States has been able to bring down satellites with missiles since the mid-1980s, according to a history of ASAT programs posted on the Union of Concerned Scientists Web site. In its own test, the U.S. military knocked a satellite out of orbit in 1985.” ---

Russia has a lot of shit they can pull out of their hat to 1 up us. Putin started with something small and cheap, no telling what he will do next. It is wise not to underestimate how stubborn he is. ---

I know we have had the ability to do it. We just haven’t this isn’t anything offensive. More like a reminder. Much like how Russia and US used to test nuclear weapons. It’s a reminder. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have given it this much media. Especially if the govt could be liable for civilian problems etc. It’s like, I see your bomber and I raise you a destroyed satellite. ---

The last time we did this we used a jet flown to 80000 feet and it fired a modified missile. This time we’re trying to launch a ship based missile, which to my knowledge has never been done before. ---
