The car I will be buying in two weekends is in Niles, OH. The car will be sitting down at Jeff’s for a few months until everything can be finalized. Is it possible not to get the vehicle registered in the state of PA, but just transfer the title, and then when it is finished, register it here? I will be taking out a small loan (2,500) to buy, and then pay back after I will sell the Nissan Hardbody and some of the other misc. parts I bought. The title will be in my name or the banks name until the loan is payed off? If it is in the banks name, I know I will need to get full insurance on the car, but don’t want to just yet. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Sean ---

can you get a personal loan for the amount so that the title is in your hands instead of the banks? I know in order to register you must have proof of insurance, and youll get a temp plate. if you get the titled signed to you you can register it anytime you want, but until the notary does the paper work it will remain the property of the previous owner. ---

Any help is much appreciated. > > Thanks, > Sean well just take out a regular loan…and don’t tell them it’s on a car because then your rates will change and you will HAVE to have full coverage…i don’t know if you have to have it insured if your keeping it in storage or a garage(ie. off the street) ---

I got a personal line of credit through my bank, so I can build up my credit alittle bit better. Im going to try to go pick it up this weekend. ---

Sean, When you register the car you WILL have to pay PA sales tax, based on the “purchase price” of the car. I have bought and sold a few cars out of state, and the advice in this thread is :bigok: :bigok: ---

I spoke with the owners father, and he is willing to undervalue it to 500 dollars based on our agreement. I’m just not sure where he still will need to sign to transfer the title over to me. ---

on the back in the first spot is says seller’s signture & seller print here! ---

When I bought my bike from CA, the seller had to sign his end of the title and get it notorized. He sent the title to me COD to guarantee payment. Then I took that title to a notary in PA, signed it, and got it notorized here. Title transfer complete. As stated above, you don’t have to register it until you are ready to put in on the road. ---

If you state a purchase price that is lower, you will have to provide a reason why (not running, needs body work, etc). ---
