I just like sitting under the Vette at the Erie jobber. 😛 I’ve been to the PGH and State College franchises too, they’re pretty consistent with the food quality. ---

The Buffalo News article said a possible Quaker Steak and Lube, or Steak 'N Shake may go in on the same property. So, if QS&L is going in at Don Pablos, sounds to me Steak 'N Shake would be the likely candidate for Sheridan and Transit. I’ll keep my fingers crossed. Steak 'N Shake would make a good location for Willy Ville Lunch Crew. 🙂 Edit: Yeah, that Pittsburgh article says basically the same thing the Buffalo News article said. “Scott said he is considering bringing a Steak 'N Shake or a Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant to the property. The Clarence site would be the first for both in Western New York.” ---

The former Don Pablo’s restaurant on Transit Road near Wherle Drive will be renovated for the new eatery. > Scott Enterprises owns Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort and a number of restaurants and hotels in Erie, Pa. Its plan to bring a Quaker Steak and Lube to Clarence began in late November and the real estate deal was finalized in mid-April, said Chris N. Scott, vice president of Scott Enterprises. The building will be leased from DDT MDR Lancaster Cinemas. Scott said they wanted to buy the building, but it was not being sold. > Scott Enterprises owned its first Quaker Steak and Lube franchise in Erie, beginning in 1999. The restaurant “gets positive reactions from the community,” Scott said. “It’s also a fun, family atmosphere.” Scott said he anticipates that the restaurant, known for its burgers, wings, and fries, will be a hit in “the Buffalo wing eating capitol,” especially with its wing-eating contests and bike nights. > Buffalo-based architects Jerry Young and Associates will design the renovations, which will include an Lshaped patio, artifacts from cars and motorcycles, and new kitchen equipment. The decor will be inspired by the original Quaker Steak and Lube, which started in an abandoned gas station in 1974 during the oil crisis and was decorated with abandoned muscle cars that had poor fuel econo- > my. yeah, the food was pretty good but the atmosphere rules. looks like an oldie time gas station/sock hop type of joint. They have race cars hanging from the ceilings and all kinds of stuff. It would make a great cruise hangout edit: they usually have a booth setup at wingstock in buffalo. Their Cajun wings are real good IMO ---
